CAR HISTORY

June 2007:
After I wrecked my Malloy Roadster in Salt Lake City the summer of 1976 I called Jerry Malloy in Denver to see if he could build me a new frame. He said he was busy building late model stock cars and did not have the time. He did say he knew of a frame and body that he had built in 1974 that a fellow bought and had not done anything with it, I bought it and had it shiped to Idaho. Jerry built two cars in 1974 one was his own and the other was the one I bought in 1976. They were the last 8 inch offset roadsters of that style that he built. Joel Terry from Salt Lake moved to Denver and drove Jerry's car that summer. That car was sold a couple of times and then Harold Evans bought it in 1978 and he won many races and championships in the Denver area. I finished my roadster in the spring of 1977 and raced it at Pocatello, Boise(Super Oval), and Salt Lake City. I won a couple of championships in Pocatello one of which was the last year they raced super modifieds there about 1982. About 1979 I built a new bigger wing and changed the paint from the rose color to black and that is the same paint that is on it today. I raced it for the last time at the CAMRA Championships at Meridian Idaho in 1982. We raced Friday night and then Saturday night it rained the race out. I believe I ended up around 5th overall. It has been in a couple of car shows since we quit racing it. I think it is one of the few Malloy 8 inch offset roadsters around that has not been changed or wrecked and is still in it's original configuration.
